The West Wales O Gauge Group's Exhibition Layout

This is a model is a representation of a typical Branch Line terminus in West or Mid Wales. It is not a model of an actual location. This allows us to introduce a number of elements to show what a branch terminus would look like in the period from the early 1930s to the late 1950s. This means we can run it at different times for different periods. For the 2023 Show we're running it as it would have been in the period from 1936 to 1939, using a realistic timetable from the period.

So, you will be able to see local passenger and goods trains. The goods trains will include a milk train which was a feature of branch lines in West Wales. You will be able to see shunting take place and also the arrival of a local holiday train. A variety of locomotives and stock will be running from the period. The layout uses Digital Command Control (DCC) and so we can have realistic running sequences and also sound. Parts of the layout are still under construction. So, you will be able to see how we are building it and also ask us questions about any aspect of the layout.
